Our fiscal year has ended and as an organization we have many things of which to be proud. With your help, the Epilepsy Foundation of Georgia has been able to:
Through your advocacy efforts, there is a heightened awareness of epilepsy, not just in our state but in the country as a whole. Efforts included participation in Epilepsy Awareness Day at the State Capitol, participation in the Kids Speak Up/Public Policy Institute in Washington, DC, and the Just What the Doctor Ordered campaign for which EFGA won the National Public Awareness Award.
These accomplishments were made possible by the success of EFGA's fundraisers. Our Taste of Love Gala netted $240,000 all of which went back into the organization to allow us to continuing reaching out to the folks in Georgia who need help. Our June 2011 Magnolia Run was one of the most successful in recent years, bringing out over 900 runners and walkers and raising over $50,000. Unbelievable!
None of these programs or fundraisers would be successful without major support from sponsors such as UCB, the Epilepsy Company, Lundbeck, Total Wine, CarMax Foundation and Nsoro Foundation, to name a few. And we could not do it without the support and help from people such as YOU - the ones who take the time to volunteer, to donate, to be there when called.
We've moved on to our next fiscal year, ready to meet new challenges head-on. With your help, EFGA will continue to be able to support the needs of people in the state of Georgia who have been touched by epilepsy. It's easy to find out what is happening - you already have this site marked. Now you can also follow EFGA on Facebook and Twitter! There is no excuse to not stay in touch!
