2009-2010 Fiscal Report


The Epilepsy Foundation of Georgia recently completed its' 2009-2010 fiscal year. During this year the following items were accomplished:
  • 103 educational in-services, reaching 8,023 people in 119 counties
  • information and referral to 4,628 people
  • 3 separate camp sessions, with 56 scholarship participants
  • emergency medication assistance for 139 persons at a cost of more than $41,000
  • a very well attended Epilepsy Advocate seminar in November
  • " heightened awareness of epilepsy through its' advocacy efforts, and through the involvement of Atlanta Falcon running back Jason Snelling
  • sponsored a very successful medication switching patient education program with Pfizer
  • 9 Childhood Epilepsy Seminars were held statewide in conjunction with Childrens Medical Services
  • the affiliate website had more than first time visitors and over hits
  • A new data management system was implemented which will create much greater efficiencies in communicating with our clients.


These programs were made possible by the following accomplishments:

  • The Taste of Love gala, which raised $272,000
  • The Magnolia Run, which had more than 700 participants.
  • Major support from UCB, the Epilepsy Company
  • Major support from Pfizer, Inc
  • Major support from Total Wine
  • Major support from the Georgia Baptist Health Foundation
  • The 2010 Annual Campaign raised $54,000
  • The advocacy efforts of hundreds of individuals throughout Georgia to make life better for people with seizure disorders
  • Georgia's National Epilepsy Walk team raised $24,000… was the top affiliate in funds raised in the country
  • The support of people like you.
