MID-YEAR REPORT


The Epilepsy Foundation of Georgia recently completed the first half of its' 2009-2010 fiscal period. During these six months the following items were accomplished:
  • 48 educational in-services, reaching 3,541 people in 105 counties
  • information and referral to 1,158 people
  • planning is underway for a new camp in partnership with Camp Twin Lakes and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta
  • emergency medication assistance for more than 60 persons
  • a very well attended Epilepsy Advocate seminar in November
  • heightened awareness of epilepsy through its' advocacy efforts, and through the involvement of Atlanta Falcon running back Jason Snelling
  • 9 Childhood Epilepsy Seminars were held statewide in conjunction with Childrens Medical Services
  • the affiliate website had more than 3,000 first time visitors and over 10,000 hits.
  • A new data management system was implemented which will create much greater efficiencies in communicating with our clients


These programs were made possible by the following accomplishments:

  • The Taste of Love gala, which raised $226,000
  • The Magnolia Run, which had more than 900 participants.
  • Major support from UCB, the Epilepsy Company
  • Major support from Pfizer, Inc
  • Major support from the Georgia Baptist Health Foundation
  • The advocacy efforts of hundreds of individuals throughout Georgia to make life better for people with seizure disorders
  • The support of people like you.
