Epilepsy Works

Most people with epilepsy are able to work in the full range of jobs. Neither the condition nor the treatments for it will affect their ability to work. There are people with seizure disorders serving successfully in every walk of life.

Unfortunately, epilepsy is often stigmatized and people face discrimination. Sometimes people are reluctant to tell their employers they have epilepsy or seizures because they learn through bitter experiences that it can be used against them.

The Georgia Affiliate’s Epilepsy Works program is designed to provide clients with the knowledge and tools necessary to identify their vocational skills, seek out appropriate employers and successfully navigate the employment process.

Components of the Epilepsy Works program include:

  • Skills assessment
  • Discussion of ADA protections and Issues of Disclosure
  • Training on resume preparation, interviewing skills
  • Job Search techniques
  • Importance of Networking
