2009 Magnolia Run

“Still the Magnolia”

Even though there was a new date and a dramatic new look, the Magnolia Run 2009 remained one of the EFGA’s most successful events. More than 900 runners and walkers took part in the 4 mile run 1 mile walk on June 20. Participates were rewarded for their efforts with a very special black T- shirt featuring a new multi-hued Magnolia Run logo.

A great deal of the credit for the large increase in participation this year was the many teams that were formed in honor or memory of a person with epilepsy. Both Team Isabella and Team Maria raised in excess of $1,200. This year’s race featured teams, including corporate teams from UCB, Assurance America and Firebird’s.

The Magnolia Run is made possible by the hard work of scores of volunteers willing to get up early on a Saturday morning and perform a wide variety of duties, from working at registration, to serving as timers, assisting with food and water distribution to handing out the awards and T-shirts at the end of the event. We want to thank these dedicated folks for their dedication.
