WISHES DO COME TRUE AT 2013 TASTE OF LOVE
The word oasis usually brings to mind a green place filled with water a midst an arid desert. However it can have many other meanings--- a haven, retreat or sanctuary or a place of peace in the midst of a troubled world. A place of calm in the midst of chaos. A place or period that gives relief from a troubling or chaotic situation. The 2013 Taste of Love blended all these definitions together with its’ theme of “Providing an Oasis for Those Living with Epilepsy”. More than 600 attendees came to the Ritz Carlton Buckhead seeking a period of relief or escape, and were treated to a wonderful evening in a lush oasis created by designer Tony Brewer & Company. From the minute they arrived, guests were transported to a lush oasis complete with camels, a bazaar filled with fabulous auction items, fine dining, exotic entertainment and after hours dancing in the Sultan’s After Party.
The goal of the evening was to raise funds to enable EFGA to provide an oasis from epilepsy for the more than 150,000 Georgians with a seizure disorder. With the help of our wonderful supporters, EFGA was able to raise of $500,000 at the 2013 Taste of Love gala. In this oasis there is no stigma, medication is made available to those with limited funds or no insurance, and programs are offered that improve the quality of life for people with epilepsy, including support groups, art therapy programs and camps for both children and adults with a seizure disorder. One of the highlights of the evening was the premiere of a video about the epilepsy camp program provided by the EFGA and its’ partners, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and Camp Twin Lakes. Special guests for the evening were several of the campers and their families who appeared in the video.

On Saturday, February 8, 2014 the Epilepsy Foundation of Georgia will present its signature fundraising gala, the Taste of Love, an elegant black tie event held at the Ritz Carlton - Buckhead. The Taste of Love features gourmet dining, premium wine pairings, extraordinary live entertainment, a top notch silent and live auction, and the chance to dance the night away.
