A BRILLIANT EVENING
| Having epilepsy can be challenging, but it does not need to be a barrier to having a very fulfilling life. Realizing this, the 2010 Taste of Love Gala, Epilepsy and Brilliant Minds, saluted famous figures in history who achieved great success, despite having epilepsy.
More than 600 people attended the EFGA's premiere fund raising event at the Ritz Carlton - Buckhead. The evening kicked off with a reception and silent auction, where participants could bid on a wonderful array of trips, jewelry, sports and entertainment memorabilia, unique experiences, fine art and a wide selection of fine wines. |

The activities then moved on to the Ritz ballroom for a delicious dinner, paired with a selection of wines provided by Total Wine and More. The ballroom décor depicted many of the most famous persons with epilepsy throughout history, including Julius Caesar, Chief Justice John Roberts, Senator Edward Kennedy, Joan of Arc and Sir Isaac Newton. A special treat was the live creation of two works of art depicting Vincent Van Gogh and Ludwig Von Beethoven by noted artist Elliott From.
Former WSB-TV Sports Anchor Chuck Dowdle served as emcee for the evening's festivities, which also included an inspiring presentation by Atlanta Falcon running back Jason Snelling. Jason shared how he had not allowed epilepsy to keep him from achieving his goals of attending the University of Virginia and playing in the NFL. A spirited live auction followed their presentations, featuring items including trips to Fashion Week in New York , the Albuquerque Hot Air Balloon Festival, the winemaking region of Tuscany or a golf package to the Ritz Carlton Naples an adorable maltipoo puppy, a Ritz Carlton's Chef's Dinner for 10, an Atlanta Falcons package, and a Steve Penley painting.
