Volunteers Honored
2008 and 2009 have
been difficult years for virtually every business,
educational institution and government entity and
individual. It is often in times of adversity, that we
learn how strong we really can be when facing
challenges.
The Epilepsy
Foundation of Georgia recently held its' annual meeting,
with a theme of "Exceeding Expectations". We were very
fortunate to have Atlanta Falcons running back Jason
Snellings as our featured speaker. Jason has "exceeded
expectations" for his entire life, as he was a star
football player in high school, a three year
starter for the University of Virginia football team ,
and made the Atlanta Falcons as a seventh
round draft pick. He did all this despite growing up
with a seizure disorder.
His basic message
was to persevere and not let adversity stop you. He used
his epilepsy as a motivating factor to meet the
challenges he has faced in life, and as a result, has
"exceeded expectations". Jason now shares his story at
both the local and national level as a spokesperson for
the epilepsy cause.
Following Jason's inspirational speech, the affiliate
recognized the following volunteers for their efforts in
